Just didn’t resonate.

The story isn’t quite as good as the last edition, but everything else is.

About as good as I remember the original being.

An exciting, funny, epic adventure that looks good, sounds good, and has a good cast. Not sure what movie the critics were watching instead.

Awful, but held my two-year-old’s attention for ten minutes.

First of all, it looks and feels authentic. Second, the lack of background/context for the characters makes their occasional irrationality frustrating to reason about. Finally, the movie’s genius is in taking what would be considered understandable beliefs/behavior/actions and pushing them to the next level, which begets questionable morality and good drama.

Mediocre action movie. Lazy plot conflict driven by miscommunication.

Classic character-driven card-player cinema.
