Old-fashioned Cinemax Saturday-night fare. The parkour is neat, while the rest is quite silly.
movie review
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) 50%
Slow, without any sense of importance.
Coherence (2014) 70%
A good, cheap idea for the most part well executed. The outdoor shaky-cam is annoying, and the cast is not likeable enough to care what happens to them, but otherwise it’s well done.
Hercules Reborn (2014) 30%
A cheap knockoff of something. Not the worst Asylum effort ever, but the acting and writing are too poor for this to be so heavyhearted.
Remember the Titans (2000) 70%
Sticky with sap from the Disney tree, but a good sports movie underneath.
Maleficent (2014) 40%
A good performance by Jolie cannot rescue the awful screenplay. Who knew that Sleeping Beauty was really about a deadbeat dad?
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) 60%
A bit darker, smarter, and less wondrous than the previous installment.
Rob the Mob (2014) 40%
Another in a recent spate of movies with morons as protagonists.
Robin Hood (2010) 50%
Well-made and well-performed, but missing requisite drama. Also leaves you wishing they would reenact the traditional Robin Hood legend events, which would pick up where this movie leaves off.
Fast & Furious 6 (2013) 60%
Not as good as the previous installment, because with this version, the story is as preposterous as the action, and it needs to play the straight man instead.
