Was prepared to not like this, as I find a lot of Burton to be too tilted in favor of style over substance. However, this effort is too well-done for that to happen.

Interesting romcom take, with good acting performances, albeit with some ridiculous plot conveniences used as bondo. Note: I believe Jennifer Lawrence could pass for characters aged 13-50 currently.

I think the narrative links suffer due to the movie’s abandonment of the novel’s structure, but the production was too good for it to bring the whole epic effort down.

Everything about this could have used more effort.

A decent and fitting coup de grâce for the sci-fi tv series “Firefly”.
