Frontera (2014) 80%
Bad decisions, good drama. Mostly believable. Somewhat shallow characterizations actually aid this as a morality play.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) 50%
The previous installments have established that neither misfortune nor death are of any certain consequence, so all the fighting and whatnot in this seems irrelevant. Combine that with an illogical plot, and it’s just plain boring.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) 60%
Well-done, but not nearly as interesting as the first edition. Relying on Scarlett Johansson’s character as the sole vessel of personality may not hold much longer.
Pompeii (2014) 60%
Jon Snow stars as Maximus Dawson in this cheese-filled rendition of Gladiatanic. Fun.

Realistically conveys the sense of post-apocalyptic boredom. I get that this is a micro-budget effort, but surely they could have spelled “warheads” correctly on the bomber jet console? (“wareheads”, hee) Or turned up the settings on their graphics card, so that clouds wouldn’t magically appear and disappear? The movie threatens to deal with some interesting subjects, and hints at some acting talent by the female lead, but neither is ever realized.
Four Lions (2010) 50%
Certainly a subject ripe for satire, but not much charisma present.
