Gimmicky thriller.

Even with the tempered expectation of a brainless dance flick, it just isn’t very good.

A sci-fi spectacle made with great consideration for long-time Trek fans.

A decent premise that got waylaid somewhere along the way, perhaps by an effort to make things more family-friendly.

Seems a charming drama, before devolving into a poorly written mess.

Like an “afterschool special”, but with more felonies.
