An exciting, funny, epic adventure that looks good, sounds good, and has a good cast. Not sure what movie the critics were watching instead.

Cody the Robosapien (2013) 30%
Awful, but held my two-year-old’s attention for ten minutes.
Night Moves (2014) 60%
First of all, it looks and feels authentic. Second, the lack of background/context for the characters makes their occasional irrationality frustrating to reason about. Finally, the movie’s genius is in taking what would be considered understandable beliefs/behavior/actions and pushing them to the next level, which begets questionable morality and good drama.
Tears of the Sun (2003) 50%
Mediocre action movie. Lazy plot conflict driven by miscommunication.
Rounders (1998) 70%
Classic character-driven card-player cinema.
Rudolph & Frosty’s Christmas in July (1979) 50%
Too much.
Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (1976) 70%
Clever/insane.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) 70%
Classic stop-action.
Star Trek (2009) 70%
I’m glad this was made, and it was well produced, but the main story conflict isn’t particularly good.
Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) 70%
Satisfactory. Funny to think how derided the Ewoks were, in light of later Lucas transgressions.
