Campy. The kind of thing you wouldn’t make occasion to, but would keep watching if it happened to be on.

The Good Lie (2014) 70%
A nice enough story, used by the filmmakers to bludgeon the viewer with sentiment.
The Trip (2011) 70%
Somewhat funny, somewhat insightful. Good landscape shots, understated.
Shaun the Sheep (2015) 70%
Charming.
Maya The Bee Movie (2015) 50%
Colorful, innocuous.
The Giver (2014) 50%
Performed and visualized well enough, but the science fiction elements are so implausible that it makes me wonder why the book was so lauded. They seem like simply contrived crutches for the writer.
San Andreas Quake (2015) 30%
Cheap and cheesy Asylum awfulness.
Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck (2015) 70%
Some really interesting footage. Has the common biopic flaw of inflating the importance of ordinary. I’m also struck by how, as with this, many biopics imply a “rags-to-riches” trajectory, but also have ample video of the subject as a child. Up until a couple decades ago, video recording in that fashion was not common. Must have been silk rags in most of these cases.
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) 65%
Ridiculous action movie with some clever bits and conspicuous product placement.
The Trials of Cate McCall (2013) 45%
Equivalent to an average made-for-tv courtroom drama. Characters are implausibly cruel to the protagonist.
