Really well done. Set design and effects are elite.

Across the Universe (2007) 35%
Succeeded in making me want to listen to actual Beatles music, rather than the horribly inferior covers combined with the incredibly shallow, literal interpretations contained in this.
A Time to Kill (1996) 60%
A terrible ending, but the kind of movie that plays with your emotions such that you may feel differently about it depending on your life experience.
A Scanner Darkly (2006) 60%
Interesting, but I don’t ever want to watch any other roto-scoped film.
A History of Violence (2005) 60%
Predictable, but well acted.
Van Helsing (2004) – 35%
The “acting” and “story” get in the way of the CGI.
1984 (1984) – 75%
Might be fairly opaque to people that have not read the novel, but pretty remarkable regardless.
1408 (2007) – 70%
Continues the theory that Stephen King short stories make better movies than his novels. One nit – all of the movie’s alternative endings are poor.
127 Hours (2010) – 60%
Not as good as the consensus seems to be, but still engaging. I prefer “Cast Away” to this.
21 Grams (2003) – 60%
Non-linearity that kinda works.
