The depictions herein of things commonly thought supernatural come across as the most realistic aspects of the film – certainly when compared with its idealized and illogical portrayal of life in the plains.

For the first 45 minutes, an interesting story set in an interesting location with an interesting cast threatened to overcome the awful acting, dialogue, characters, motivation, and accents. But then the movie went on for another hour-and-a-half.

A lot of bloviated dialogue, but the conflict between persecuted thinkers and aggressor believers is quite prescient.

An entertaining exploration of a particular, egocentric psychology.

Somewhat disappointing with all the big guns involved. Perhaps I just don’t understand the “talk to the dead” trope, where movie characters often seem to want to talk to a dead loved one for the sole purpose of having said dead person tell them to move on with their life.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Gives the impression of something that cost enough to be more entertaining.
